Mathew's comments: Troll alert: The two Johns — Elton and Dvorak

Bravo Mr Ingram! Well called out on both counts. I wonder if working "in the Medias" is the same as "working on the internets". Oh wait I do both. I must be a real bad evil doer ;-)

Yeah, like you don't have a copy of Muskrat Love in your car's 8-track deck at this very moment! ;)

Technically, speaking, shouldn't Dvorak have called it Bust.2. The bubble part of a cycle is the good part, when things are expanding. It's the bust that he's trolling about. One thing about Dvorak: He'll be Trolling no matter what Dot-number we're on.

    "Same results"?

I couldn't bear to be walked out of Rogers iMedia again!

Well put. My thoughts exactly on the Dvorak piece - just because busts have happened before doesn't mean that everything technology-related ends in one (which seems to be his reasoning).

And Elton John is just a greedy piggy, if you ask me.

Well, John D. does make a couple of good points....personally, I'm getting inundated with social networking site invites, and it's beginning to get to be way too much. I'd like to have an offline life, too, thankyouverymuch. The second thing he may be right on are the widgets and toolbars. If you've ever had duelling toolbars, you'll know what I mean. And there are way too many widgets out there...so many widgets, not enough time (IMO.)

As we said at BlogHer, just because someone builds it, doesn't mean you have to use it....

So, some things may (probably will) bust, but others will keep on keeping on. I don't think the bust will be as bad as the .com bust, though. Too many people aren't quitting their day jobs.
