    You are correct that we've slacked keeping everyone up to date with our server issues. January will be a pivitol month for TagCloud, as we will be significantly upgrading our infrastructure. TagCloud was created as an experiment, but the usage and feedback has been tremendous and encouraging. We are at the point where the site is changing from a side experiment to something I'll be putting significant time into. Thanks for checking us out, even if it means exposing the warts, too!

    Thanks for the quick response, John -- and for taking my critical comments so well. I wrote about TagCloud because I think it's a great idea, one that I would like to see succeed -- and I think if you were up front about the problems you're having, that people would understand and cut you some slack. I think Bloglines' response really helped when they were having problems, and Typepad's lack of response hurt, and I think there's a lesson to be learned there.

    Presently, one of my blogs has a tagcloud that is around 40 days old, while a new blog shows none. I appreciate the posts here, from Mathew and from John, as they have helped me figure out what has been happening.

    Thanks for the comment, Jack. I know John is probably busy, but I just thought I would mention that while my clouds are working now, the latest news on TagCloud is still from over two months ago. And I've also noticed that the tags produced for my cloud aren't a very accurate reflection of what I've been writing about over the past couple of months -- I don't know whether that's because of something TagCloud is doing, or whether it's a flaw in the Yahoo content analysis engine they're using.
