um... Frank Caliendo gained fame as a fixture of the traditional media. Years on "MadTV" and as a regular guest on nationally syndicated radio morning show "Bob and Tom". I'm just saying...

Thanks, anon. I may have overstated things as far as Frank is concerned -- although I think Cringely's point is that Caliendo has gotten a lot more mileage out of his own DVDs than he did out of Mad TV or a radio show.

lol, i found this post via techmeme and wanted to know what you had to say about the goog/apple thing and the free music downloads! oh well, I appreciated this post at least as much.

Thanks, Marshall -- I guess that was kind of a cheap trick on my part :-) Another example, perhaps, of how Techmeme's algorithms are less than perfect at reflecting what's really going on.
