so is there any room for a standalone RSS reader or do RSS readers simply become part of web browsers? i use feeddemon, although i would love to know how ot snynch my feeds between different computers.

I think there's still room for standalones, but mostly for geeks -- I think over time RSS reading will just get absorbed into browsers and other applications. As for FeedDemon, I've never used the sync feature but I understand that it will sync with Newsgator online. Not sure if that's what you're looking for or not.
