Thanks. &lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;I prefer "participatory media" to "citizen journalism" too. Calling bloggers journalists sets them up for the kind of critique Tim O'Reilly launched last week; e.g., why didn't the bloggers who commented on the service mark issue do the same fact checking the NY Times did? Um, because we're not journalists for the most part and we don't own our own fact checking departments. &lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;But "participatory media" doesn't quite capture it for me either. That makes it sound like  some sort of interactive TV show where the audience merely gets to choose what ending is shown.
