You're confusing an extensively funded right-wing smear-campaign against media in general, with issues of trust. Slashdot was &lt;a href="http://sethf.com/freespeech/censorware/project/bennett.php" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank" title="http://sethf.com/freespeech/censorware/project/bennett.php"&gt;*infamous*&lt;/a&gt; for having someone who was abusive and used his position there for his politics and for personal vendettas.
