I was kind of using "micro-niche" as a synonym for "smaller than Time Warner"...

Re: I think Mike and Om should get hitched

Interesting.

And while I don't think you quite meant it that way, I don't view either TechCrunch or the Om empire as "micro-niche."

Depends on your perspective, I guess.

Re: I think Mike and Om should get hitched

great idea.

Re: I think Mike and Om should get hitched

Interesting Post .. would you like to Comment ???

Re: I think Mike and Om should get hitched

Good one, Aidan.

And no, Anuvinder, I don't really think it would make TechCrunch and gigaom more like an old media publication -- I think they would still have the same flavour they have now, they would just have a bit more mass when it came to attracting advertising, which I think is the hardest thing about being a micro-niche publication, online or off.

Re: I think Mike and Om should get hitched

Interesting you say this Mathew, because a while ago when both Mike and Om were about to launch their respective job boards, Mike wanted to join forces with Om, though just for the job board (http://www.crunchnotes.com/....

Your analysis makes sense....

But then, if they do something like this, what would this really do to the two blogs? Wouldn\'t that really transform techcrunch/gigaom into something like an old world pre-blog era publication? With lots of different sections and writers....And perhaps we\'ll all be back to reading Business 2.0 again!

Or maybe not.... :)

Re: I think Mike and Om should get hitched

Do you think Mike would demand a pre-nup?
