Mathew's comments: Hello Knol — goodbye Mahalo?

  • centernetworks · 1 year ago
Hi Mathew - Thanks for the link! I took a look at this topic in a video tonight:
    http://www.centernetworks.com/crowdsourced-ency...

Knol may damage Mahalo in the "free" space but not in the paid space. If you create articles inside the greenhouse, the payment is direct and not based on clicks on google adsense ads.

Now if my prediction from last year is true, mahalo will move more and more to free and less and less to paid - when that percentage shifts far enough, then your post title will be much more of a possibility.

Thanks for the comment, Allen. Those are some good points.

I agree with Jason actually, and his response is very shrewd. He continues to impress me with his business savy. He is definitely a guy I wouldn't want to play poker against even though I may find it the most fun I have had losing money :)

As an info consumer I want a consolidation of all relevant info rather than a single site or even many sites that are "authoritative". I really like knols openness and what appears to be a community driven process rather than Wikipedia's editorial elitism which now works too hard to remove good stuff in the name of consistency.
