Beyond that, though, is the notion that communities foster ownership, and what the members think matters.  In this case, it feels as though the Flickr team has sort of laid down the law without really getting a sense for how the community would react or what they wanted.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;I would rather have seen them limit groups.  I get so many irrelevant group invitations over there -- groups I would never add photos to, and I feel guilty for turning them down.  It feels uncommunity-like.  &lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;It's true to an extent that it is their community and they can make the rules, but since we're paying to be part of the community, it would be better if they'd have talked to us first, rather than laying down the law.</description><dc:creator xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/">Karoli</dc:creator><pubDate>Thu, 01 Feb 2007 02:02:41 -0000</pubDate></item></channel></rss>
