I have to echo your comments. Why would eBay pay $40m for something that they could replicate in a weekend. I'm come on - a tool bar extension that takes you to another web site. That's hardly difficult.
And then think of the funding they took... only $1.5m. eBay belch that amount after a good SV lunch.
However all that being said, if someone offers me $40m for some technology I'll be waiting to sign on the dotted line.
