  • Not to be all Nick Carr-ish about this, but I'm totally fine with AP's decision. It's their content, and they should feel free to coop it up however they see fit.

  • Contrarian as always, Paul :-) And I would agree, provided there's a
    genuine issue of competition or injury to their ability to sell the
    content. But do you really think that's the case with something like
    the Drudge Retort?
  • Forget about the legal issue, for a sec. From a strategic point of view, in the context of a print newspaper industry that is absolutely dying and putting the AP under all kinds of financial pressure, isn't it extra bizarre that they don't see this free promotion of their content with links back to their web site as beneficial?
  • Totally agree -- it seems like a foot-shooting type of effort, in a lot of ways.
