The promotional "stunt" is less important than the sentiment and therefore it remains news worthy in my opinion.

The proposed Bill is being pitched as something to protect artists and copyright owners. Yet 'current' artists like "Craft Economy" have been voicing continual opposition to this type of bill. The bill is not protecting artists or copyright owners, it is trying to protect a "gate keeper" business model, which is failing in today's digital world.

Only by reporting these views does the public get an idea that the Bill is actually not meant for the protection of artists.

Re: A free CD — and a Bill C-61 protest

Perhaps there will come such a time, but I haven't gotten there yet. I think it's interesting to watch artists and musicians experiment with new methods of reaching their audience -- even if they are in part "stunts." If you disagree, feel free not to read about them :-)

Re: A free CD — and a Bill C-61 protest

Doesn't there come a time when these stunts stop being interesting for their own sake? I know that is what your blog is about, but...
